Clay Butterflies for Mother's Day

This is probably the most challenging but most satisfying art work that Ms. K and I have done for Mother's Day. It is a loooong process to work with the little ones and has many steps to it. But I think it's worth it!

We used crayola air dry clay for the butterfly:



Using ordinary paper to make a trace of the butterfly, we formed our butterflies on top of it.








The result of the hard work is like below:



After drying for four days, we painted our butterflies with acrylic:



Then we painted on hard stock paper our background using acrylic. After that, we used a special adhesive spray to place our butterflies on our hard stock paper. We also found a beautiful poem about the clay butterfly. And voila, here are the beautiful work of our little ones!

I Love You, Mom, Because... It's Mother's Day

To celebrate Mother's Day, we had a concert and a get together called Muffins With Mommies. The children wrote their thoughts about why they love their mommies and we made a mini-book about it. See their wonderful pages below:
